Good Dogs of Service Book by Lynn Cobb
The Good Dogs of Service book makes a great gift for any dog lover!
“You’ve seen them, walking with purpose through crowded concourses, waiting alertly at curbs, at special events--in every walk of life. Sometimes you glimpse them on the news, in areas that have been struck by natural disasters (building collapses, avalanches, earthquakes, mudslides) or touched by war—first responders who are put into some of the most dangerous and challenging missions on the planet. They are service dogs and working canines, or “Good Dogs of Service”. And they use their awesome powers for the benefit of people throughout the world, in every social stratum. We’re encouraged not to engage with these dogs while they’re on duty. They’ve been trained to take their missions very seriously. But in this book, photographer Lynn Cobb has given us privileged and candid access to twenty of these remarkable canines and their handlers. Her mission: to inspire others to love these dogs as much as she does and become their advocates.
In “Good Dogs of Service” you will learn about the “superpowers” of these dogs, the range of services they provide, the breeds that seem admirably suited for such duties, and a variety of organizations that have been established to train such dogs and match them with humans. Most importantly you will be able to view, in over fifty fine portraits by Lynn Cobb, the dogs interacting their handlers, their mutual regard and respect on full display. “

My personal photo project … Good Dogs of Service
Every photographer needs a personal photo project and when you love dogs, this is what it looks like. It is with great honor that I present this photo book, Good Dogs of Service: True Stories of Honor, Courage, and Devotion.
Inside, you’ll find a collection of portraits and stories of Working K9s, Service Dogs, and their handlers. It’s important for the world to know that these great dogs perform so many tasks such as guiding, search and rescue, diabetic alerting, and police, fire, and military service.
Over the years, I have learned about their incredible service to humanity, and this is my tribute to them. The dogs here represent just a few of the thousands of dogs worldwide that are Good Dogs of Service.
